Who are we?

We are a dynamic team of multicultural individuals driven by the power of using science to create a tangible impact on the health of historically underserved communities.

Our team at Cancer Prevention and Control at Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center is led by Dr. Alejandra Hurtado de Mendoza. We focus on conducting community-engaged research at the intersection of translational genomics, health communication, and health equity.

We partner with community-based organizations to develop and test culturally targeted approaches for diverse populations to decrease disparities in cancer related outcomes.
